Understanding the Process

Before diving into the steps, let’s clarify the process:

  1. Document Creation and Signing: The document owner creates a document, applies a signature (/s/SignerName) for signer, and hashes the document.
  2. Signature Authorization Request: The document owner completes the signature authorization request with AuthuSign. The document owner directly emails the original document with authorization link to the signer.
  3. Signer Authorization: The signer verifies the document’s hash and authorizes the signature through authorization link.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Document Creation and Hashing

  • Create the Document: Using your preferred document editor or drag & drop an existing document.
  • Apply Signature: Insert “/s/SignerName” where the signer’s signature is required.
  • Hash the Document: Use AuthuSign’s cryptographic hash engine to generate a hash of the entire document, including the applied signature and click “Save”. This hash will be used for verification.

2. Complete the Signature Authorization Form

  • Signer’s Name
  • Business Name (If applicable)
  • Document hash
  • Signer’s signature (/a/SignerName)
  • Your email

3. Submitting the Signature Authorization Request

  • Submit the Form: Once completed and verified with a one-time-password (OTP), Authusign will generate a signature authorization link.
  • Directly Email Document to signer: Email the original document with authorization link to the signer.

4. Signer Authorization

  • Receive the Document: The signer receives the original document directly from document owner with authorization link.
  • Review Document Content: The signer carefully reviews the document content.
  • Verify Document Integrity: The signer recalculates the hash of the received document using AuthuSign’s cryptographic hash engine and compares it to the provided hash. If they match, the document integrity is verified.
  • Authorize Signature: If the signer agrees with the document content and authorizes the signature, the authorization request is completed.

5. Signer’s Signature

  • Receive Authorization: The document owner receives the authorization confirmation.
